Pair that with strong faux-wood pricing and it becomes one of the more forgiving places to buy a room or two of budget blinds. Is the measuring guide published? Yes. Blindster keeps public measuring guides and how-to pages by product type, including the depth and clearance notes that decide whether a 2-inch faux-wood blind can even mount inside your frame. Faux-wood is heavier and thicker than fabric shades, so the depth check matters more here than it does for a cellular — read it before you fall for a color.

Are the deductions stated? Yes. Blindster uses the standard workflow: enter the exact window opening for an inside mount and the factory takes the deduction. Follow Blindster's own measuring guide and submit the raw opening — do not subtract a fraction yourself, or the double-deduction leaves gaps at the edges. For outside mounts you add overlap. Is the remake policy real? Yes — this is the Fit-or-Free Guarantee. If your blinds do not fit, Blindster remakes them for free; you pay only shipping and any price difference if you change the size upward. The cap is three free remakes per order, dropping to one free remake on shutters. That is a genuine measuring safety net, and the three-remake allowance is more headroom per order than several larger sellers give.

Per-window pricing

Blindster's pull is the faux-wood value tier — 2-inch cordless faux-wood blinds that undercut the big catalogs on plain white configurations. It carries cellular and roller lines too, but faux-wood is where it competes hardest. The pricing is honest in the sense that matters most: Blindster leads with a starting price, not a permanently slashed "regular" number, so the sticker you see is closer to the sticker you pay. For a laundry room, a rental, or a basement full of plain windows, a Blindster faux-wood order is often the lowest all-in per-window cost among the sellers we track — before you even count the refund safety net.

Policies: refunds, remakes, samples, and warranty

The terms below were read from Blindster's own policy pages on September 15, 2026 — the Fit-or-Free page, the 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee page, the Returns page, the Warranty page, and the Accident Protection Plan page — not from first-hand orders. Policy text is perishable, so confirm the current wording before you buy. Read together, they explain exactly who Blindster's money-back promise is for, and what it will cost you to use it.

The warranty term is the number to know first. Blindster's Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the date of receipt, motorized products and remote controls included, for the original purchaser only. Fading from sun exposure is called out as normal and not covered, and the remedy is repair or replacement of the defective product. During those first 12 months Blindster pays for the replacement product or parts and the associated shipping; for claims after 12 months, the policy says Blindster "will review the situation on a case-by-case basis" and may charge for the replacement or the shipping. One year is short for this category, and it is the single biggest gap between Blindster and the sellers it is usually cross-shopped against:

Levolor bought through Blindster is the exception, in both directions. Blindster sells LEVOLOR products, and its warranty page states that the Blindster Limited Warranty "does not extend to LEVOLOR products." Those carry Levolor's own limited lifetime terms instead: 10 years from the date of manufacture on cellular, roman, roller, woven wood, panel track, real and faux wood, aluminum, zebra, sheer, and vertical products; 5 years on InMotion motorization; 3 years on vertical vinyl vanes. But Levolor products are also excluded from Fit-or-Free and from the satisfaction guarantee. So a Levolor shade from Blindster gets the long warranty with no remake or refund net, while a Blindster-brand shade gets the short warranty with both. Decide which risk you would rather carry — a defect years out, or a measuring mistake next week — before you pick the line.

Fit-or-Free is a free remake with a shipping bill attached. If a product does not fit because of a measuring error, contact Blindster within 60 days of delivery and it will remake the product at no charge for the product itself. What you pay is spelled out: "You only pay for shipping, which is $20 per product," plus the price difference if the corrected size costs more. The limits matter as much as the promise. There is a cap of three remakes per order and/or product, and only one for shutters; the remake must be the same product, color, and options; photo evidence may be required; the remade product ships only to the name and address on the original order; and products remade under Fit-or-Free cannot be returned. An oversize freight fee of $85, on top of the $20, applies to any remake 90 inches or wider (90 inches in height and/or width for vertical blinds) and to all shutters. Fit-or-Free is available one time per person, per lifetime, cannot be combined with the satisfaction guarantee, and does not cover closeout products, the Premium Exterior Solar Shade, LEVOLOR products, or commercial and dealer orders. Blindster's own advice on the page is the right one: order a single product first if it is your first order.

A worked remake bill. Two mismeasured 2-inch faux-wood blinds remade under Fit-or-Free cost $40 in shipping, plus any price difference for the new size. One 96-inch-wide vertical blind remade under the same policy costs $20 plus the $85 oversize fee, $105 before any price difference. For contrast, SelectBlinds' FIT Protection allows one remake per product and four per household lifetime, claimed within 90 days of purchase with the corrected size within 2 inches per side, and its terms say plainly that "shipping charges will also apply" to remakes. Neither seller's remake is free to ship; Blindster's is the one that publishes the number.

The $500 refund cap has a 12-month clock. The 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee works like this: contact Blindster within 60 days of delivery, it first tries to find an alternative product, color, feature, or size, and if nothing works it authorizes a return for a refund of the order value minus any handling fee, up to $500. The clause that changes the arithmetic is the scope: the $500 maximum "is applicable to the same person, household, or address, within any 12-month period." Splitting a whole-house purchase into several orders does not multiply the cap. Return shipping, oversize freight fees, and handling charges are non-refundable; prior authorization is required; photo or video evidence may be requested; and the guarantee cannot be combined with Fit-or-Free. The same exclusions apply — closeout, Premium Exterior Solar Shade, LEVOLOR, commercial and dealer orders. Blindster explains the cap honestly: custom products cannot be resold, so every return is donated to charity.

Who the refund is actually for. Four 2-inch faux-wood blinds for a bedroom at roughly $80 each, plus tax and shipping — call it $360 all in — sit comfortably under the cap, so if the color reads wrong in person you can get the whole order refunded, which almost no custom-blinds seller offers. Twenty windows at the same price is $1,600, and the cap refunds less than a third of it, once, for the year. The guarantee is sized for small orders and first orders. If you are furnishing a house, treat it as partial insurance, use the free samples, and lean on Fit-or-Free to get the sizes right.

The Accident Protection Plan, and one discrepancy worth knowing about. The optional plan runs five years and covers accidental damage — broken parts or mechanisms, rips, tears, stains, scratches, burns, cracks, holes, fire or water damage — with a one-time replacement including shipping, for the original customer only, in the original size and color, shipped to the original address. Discontinued products are replaced with a comparable alternative. It is not offered on closeout products, the Premium Exterior Solar Shade, commercial or dealer orders, or orders over $5,000, and the $85 oversize and shutter fee applies to replacements. Blindster says a former 3-year version of the plan is still honored for people who bought it. The discrepancy: the Returns page lists "the accident protection plan" among the charges that are non-refundable, while the Protection Plan page and the Warranty page both state the plan fee is refundable within 60 days if the product is returned under the Satisfaction Guarantee. Both versions were live on September 15, 2026. If you buy the plan and later invoke the guarantee, ask for the plan refund in writing rather than assuming either page. The plan itself is a sensible buy in a kitchen, a kids' room, or a home with pets, and easy to skip on a low-traffic window.

Samples. Free samples are available and worth ordering before anything else, especially on faux-wood, where "white" and "off-white" finishes differ more than the thumbnails suggest. Blindster's own policy pages recommend ordering samples and a single product first, and on a seller whose safety net is capped, that is the cheapest insurance there is.

Where faux-wood earns its keep

Blindster leans on faux-wood for a reason: it is the workhorse of the value lane. Faux-wood resists warping in humidity in a way real wood does not, which makes it the sensible pick for bathrooms, kitchens, and basements — anywhere steam or temperature swings would twist a real-wood slat. The trade is weight: a wide faux-wood blind is heavy, which is why the depth-and-clearance check on Blindster's measuring guide matters, and why very wide openings are often better served by two blinds on a shared headrail than one sagging span. For a plain, moisture-tolerant, low-cost blind, faux-wood from Blindster is hard to beat on price; for a statement window in a dry room, real wood or a fabric shade may be worth the step up.

A factual note for homes with young children: Blindster's blinds are widely available cordless, consistent with CPSC guidance and the ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2018 operating-cord requirements that federal law applies to stock coverings. Cordless is the recommended choice around kids and pets — a plain fact, not a scare.

The honest cons

Three limits keep Blindster in the value lane rather than the premium one. First, the $500 refund cap is meaningful only on small orders — big buyers should treat it as partial cover, not a return. Second, you pay shipping (and any upsizing difference) on Fit-or-Free remakes, so a mistake is not entirely free. Third, the catalog and designer-fabric range are narrower than the big multi-brand sellers; if you want a specific high-end fabric, you may not find it here.

Who it's for, and who should pass

Buy Blindster if your priority is low all-in cost on faux-wood or simple cellular shades, you want a real (if capped) refund option as a backstop, and you are outfitting a room or two rather than a whole house.
