Band Alignment

Band alignment is how precisely a zebra shade’s two banded layers stay in register across the width so the solids meet cleanly for privacy and the sheers meet cleanly for view. It’s the category’s main quality differentiator: a well-built shade holds alignment across the whole span and over years of use, while a cheap one skews so one side is private while the other still shows a view. On very wide windows the risk grows. When evaluating zebra shades, alignment consistency — read from owner feedback and the seller’s build reputation — matters more than the fabric swatch, because a shade that won’t hold register defeats the one thing zebra shades are for.
