Zebra / Dual Shade

A zebra shade (also dual or banded shade) is a single fabric with alternating sheer and solid horizontal bands, doubled over on a roller. Move it a few inches and the solid bands of the two layers line up for privacy and shade; move it back and the sheers align for a clear view. That view-to-privacy dial in one product is the appeal, and the look photographs beautifully. The honest limits: even fully closed it’s room-darkening at best, never true blackout, and cheaper units can drift out of band alignment over time. For a bedroom that needs real dark, pair it with a liner or reach for a different product.
