Cloth Tape (Ladder Tape)
Cloth tape is a wide decorative fabric ribbon that runs down the front of a wood or faux-wood blind in place of the usual thin ladder string, covering the route holes and adding a tailored, custom accent. Beyond the dressier look, it hides the pinhole light leaks at the cords, a modest darkening bonus. The considerations: cloth tape is an upcharge, it commits you to a color pairing, and the tapes can show soil over years in high-traffic spots. It’s a style choice that suits traditional and transitional rooms; for a minimal modern look, standard cord or a routeless slat is the cleaner call.
