Slat Size

Slat size is the width of each horizontal slat, commonly 2" and 2.5" on wood and faux-wood blinds (1" exists for a tighter look). Wider slats give a cleaner outward view when open, fewer slats and cords across the window, and a bolder, more contemporary scale; narrower slats read more traditional and stack more tightly at the top. Wider slats also raise the stack height when fully lifted. It’s a scale-and-preference decision more than a performance one, though bigger slats mean fewer route holes and, on routeless options, better closed-privacy. Match slat width to window size — 2.5" suits large windows, narrower slats suit small ones.
